Care Guide: Tents

To prolong the life of your tent, you need to clean it after use and learn to store it correctly. Before putting it away, check for any damage – like broken zippers, rusted or broken poles, fabric tears, holes, pulled seams or mould. Check your warranty to see if the repairs are covered and then take it to your nearest store. After inspecting the tent, give it a clean with a sponge or dishtowel and some soapy, lukewarm water. Don’t soak or machine-wash. Let it dry properly in a shaded area (not in direct sunlight) before packing it away in a cool, dry place, or else it will contribute to mould. Mould can penetrate the coating and destroy the fabric. If there’s mould, clean it off immediately with an antibacterial cleaner, and leave a solution of one cup salt, one cup lemon juice in 4 litres of hot water to dry on the spot.

I have mine since 2007 that I used for motorbike rallies and family camping and I still use mine. My zip is the only thing that broke after 7 years of use. I go camp at least 3 times a year. Great Quality and Durable product. . Posted on 12/9/2015

I have had one of these tents for about 8 months and used it quite a few times. I am very happy with its over-all quality as a camping only tent. We wanted something slightly smaller, lighter, while still being tall enough to stand in, with "enough" room. We manage to fit a queen size mattress in with enough room for bags. The double entrance is very handy for simple tasks like fitting an electric cable through. The skylight panel was a surprising feature that does illuminate the inside of the tent which is handy when you step into the tent during a bright day, and your eyes are still adjusting to the darker tent interior. The vestibule on the front is very handy for wet shoes or for keeping the cooler box in shade.
The tent is very easy to set up, and the way the poles are used make for a sturdy tent, that manages water well. However there is one big complaint with one of the poles. The grey pole that is fed through the fly sheet has a sleeve that it simply much too narrow. The tent can be setup in such a short time, but then you get to that darn pole. You really have to battle to get it in and out, which may lead to that sleeve having a shorter life span, and makes the tent setup slightly less pleasant.
The guy ropes and pegs are light duty, and the bag appears to be made from the same material as the tent, which in my opinion is not durable enough for a bag in the long run.
Over-all I am very happy with the tent, and the pole sleeve I mentioned is the only real gripe I have with it. I feel the tent is slightly over-priced for a camping specification tent.. Posted on 8/27/2014
