Cape Union Mart’s Adventure Film Challenge invites enthusiasts to submit their 5 minute films on South African outdoor culture by the end of July for this annual competition.
The winning professional category submission will be screened in South Africa in connection with the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour 2022, and the winning film-maker will receive a R10 000 cash prize and K-Way gear to the value of R5000. In proud partnership with DJI, the winning film will also receive a DJI Mini SE Fly More Combo – which includes a DJI Mini SE drone and additional accessories.
The winning aspiring category submission will win a R5000 gift voucher.

The Adventure Film Challenge was founded by Cape Union Mart to showcase the best adventure films South Africa had to offer and help to shine a spotlight on, and to encourage aspiring and established film makers to gear up and explore our natural landscapes.
The professional film every year will win R10 000 in cash and R5 000 in vouchers while aspiring filmmakers are vying for R5 000 worth of gear. The winning films will also have opportunity to be featured in the BANFF Centre Film Festival screened in South Africa.
The clue is in the name! Send us a film capturing your most epic adventure in the outdoors.
It should be no longer than 300 seconds (5 minutes).
In order to be suitable for cinemas it should preferably be shot at HDTV resolution (1920 x 1080) at either 25 or 50 fps.
